Poll results: full disconnect on top, but zero vacation close behind 🌓

Last week, we featured a thought-provoking poll about how much time off you take over the summer–if any. And the results were interesting:

“Fully disconnect, not doing anything related to work at all” led with 30.7% of the votes, but its polar opposite, “What vacation? I continue full steam ahead” came in a close second with 27%.

😌 It’s great to see a significant chunk embracing the ‘life’ part of work-life balance. But while some of us can completely disconnect from work over the summer, others find it challenging to step away. There are also those who feel pressure to work on vacation, even if they don't want to.

The tech/startup industry is fast-paced and demanding (especially for founders or those looking for funding, as one of our readers highlighted), which can make it difficult to take time off. Plus, entrepreneurs are often passionate about their work and find it hard to leave behind. It's also possible that some feel pressure to work over the summer from their managers or co-workers.

Whatever the reason, hopefully, that 27% will be able to take a few days off soon to disconnect from work and focus on doing things that you enjoy. End result = more productive, creative, and less likely to experience burnout.
